Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School - Baldivis

Mother Teresa Catholic School in Baldivis is on schedule to open at the start of Term 1 2014. Stage 1 of the school has steadily risen from the paddock since May 2013.

'The rammed earth school is architecturally unique and has certainly sparked a lot of interest in the general community,' said Foundation Principal, Geri O'Keefe.

'Baldivis has one of the fastest growing populations in WA. Market gardens and small farms are rapidly giving way to housing estates and there is no shortage of young families moving into them.

'The school's early learning facilities will include 'state-of-the-art' technology and resources in interesting and colourful internal learning areas and imaginative external areas conducive to creative inquiry - learning through play.'

The Foundation staff are already meeting to ensure that the 150 children expected to commence in two kindergarden classes and single pre-primary, Year 1 and Year 2 classes, will be purposefully and happily engaged in learning.

'It has truly been a great experience to be part of the birth of a new parish school. The sense of belonging to a pioneering community is palpable in Baldivis,' said Geri.

School and parish

'School and parish will continue to enjoy a close, supportive relationship under the patronage of the Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta and to grow Strong in Faith and Love as our school motto states. Her spirit of outreach and love for all human beings, especially the poor and unwanted, will continue to inspire and motivate us. In her words: 'Let us together do something beautiful for God.'
