Learning at MTCC offers a diverse education

The Curriculum at Mother Teresa Catholic College encompasses everything the students experience from the time of entering college grounds until the students exit the college at the end of the school day.

Religious Education is the first Learning Area and the other Learning Areas are those defined in the Australian Curriculum:

  • Arts

  • English

  • Civics and Citizenship (from Yr 3)

  • Health and Physical Education

  • Geography

  • History

  • Languages

  • Mathematics

  • Science and Technologies

Learning content and processes are underpinned by the Australian Curriculum, the Early Years Framework and the National Quality Standards as well as the AITSL Standards for Teaching and School Leadership.

Mother Teresa’s students enjoy a broad curriculum which includes one-to-one learning using iPads and Apple TVs, Specialist classes in Physical Education, Health, Fitness and Sport, Music and Drama, Dance-Sport, Indonesian Language and Cultural Studies, Swimming lessons, incursions and excursions.

On four days each week, the curriculum includes a 1.5 hour block of Inquiry Learning (Walker Learning Approach), a 1.5 hour dedicated Literacy block and a 1.5 hour block for Mathematics.

From Day One, the focus at Mother Teresa’s has been on the students learning – about themselves, others and their world – in a 21st century learning environment.
