National Sorry Day 2023

Today is National Sorry Day, an annual day of commemoration and remembrance of all those who have been impacted by the government policies of forcible removal that have resulted in the Stolen Generations.

National Sorry Day provides us with an opportunity to recognise the deep pain and injustices endured by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to express our heartfelt apologies for the trauma and hardships they have faced. It is a day where we reaffirm our commitment to reconciliation, understanding, and building a future based on mutual respect and inclusivity.

Today, our Secondary students came together to raise our flags as a symbol of acknowledgement, respect, and remembrance. Our Junior School students designed footprint artwork and created a Sorry Day display in the Bush Tucker Garden to pay tribute to the Stolen Generations, their families, and communities affected by past policies and actions.

Together, we can learn from the past and actively contribute to a better future!
