Aspiring Apple Distinguished School

iPad at MTCC

Mother Teresa Catholic College is a technology-rich, aspiring Apple Distinguished School. Introduced in 2021, Apple technologies have been embedded at the College and have become an integral teaching and learning tool.

Our integration philosophy removes barriers to creativity and allows our students not only to be consumers of knowledge but creators of content. Through iPad, we aim to provide learners throughout K—12 with creative opportunities which will allow them to flourish in the ever-changing world.

Modes to Communicate Learning

The introduction of iPad at the College has empowered students to show learning in a variety of different ways. Teachers plan activities and assessments that challenge students to use various modes of communication.

For example, in Design and Technology, students are challenged to create AR mock-ups of projects; in Drama they explore performance through voice recording and podcasting.

Giving students choice of how to present learning allows them freedom of expression and encourages them to explore and learn new skills. Learn more about our Year 7 & 8 Digital Communication course.

Apple Inspire Innovation Program

Apple’s Inspire Innovation program is aimed at teachers and designed to enhance practice, build capacity in schools and ensure the school’s investment in technology is making a positive impact.

In 2021, the College was chosen by Apple as the focus school for the Australia & New Zealand region. Five Secondary teachers have received expert training and support in using iPad effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
