Parent Information Sessions

Ready to Learn & Emotional Regulation

Ready to Learn

Emotional Regulation.

Across Terms 2 and 3, our Support Worker, Mr Ryan Hill, hosted two parent information sessions designed to equip families with practical tools to support their children’s learning and wellbeing. The sessions focused on two key areas: Ready to Learn and Emotional Regulation.

The Ready to Learn session explored how children can best prepare themselves for learning each day, looking at routines, organisation, and strategies that help students arrive in the classroom calm, focused, and ready to engage. Parents were given practical tips on creating positive habits at home that support attention, confidence, and resilience at school.

The Emotional Regulation session looked at ways to help children understand and manage their emotions. Mr Hill discussed how recognising feelings, building coping skills, and developing self-regulation strategies can improve not only classroom learning but also relationships and overall wellbeing. Parents shared experiences and left with practical approaches they could use at home to guide their children in navigating challenges with confidence.

For those who were unable to attend, we have prepared a two-page summary document highlighting the main ideas, strategies, and resources covered in the sessions.

These information sessions will continue to run each term, with all Junior School parents warmly invited to attend. They provide a valuable opportunity to connect, learn together, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. Details of the next session will be announced at the beginning of Term 4, and we encourage families to take part.
