Year 2 Space Explorers Incursion

On Tuesday, 9 September, our Year 2 students welcomed the REmida team into our school for an exciting Space Explorers Incursion. Using loose parts and recycled materials that would otherwise have gone to landfill, the students let their creativity and imagination run wild as they built robots ready to explore outer space!

Parents and grandparents joined us on the day, contributing to a wonderful atmosphere of inquisitive learning while reinforcing the importance of recycling, reusing, and sustainable waste management.

Did you know?
You don’t need glue or sticky tape to connect materials together! When we use these items, our creations often become single-use, limiting how they can be adapted or re-used. Instead, connectors such as bulldog clips, elastic bands, old shoelaces, and wires can hold pieces together securely — and be easily removed. This means our designs can evolve, and the materials can be reused time and again.

A big thank you to Year 2 teachers Miss Batey, Ms Fuller, and Mrs Kenny for guiding our students through such a creative and inspiring learning experience.
