Secondary College NAIDOC Assembly – Celebrating Culture and Academic Excellence
As we begin Term 3, the Secondary College will come together for a special NAIDOC Assembly on Monday 21 July, held from 8:45am to 9:40am in the Secondary Sports Centre.
This assembly will honour NAIDOC Week 2025, which was proudly celebrated from Sunday 6 July to Sunday 13 July. NAIDOC Week is a time for all Australians to recognise the rich history, vibrant culture, and enduring achievements of First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year marks a significant milestone — 50 years of NAIDOC Week — and invites us all to reflect on this year’s powerful theme:
“The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”
This theme honours the resilience of those who came before us, celebrates the leadership of today’s young Indigenous voices, and calls on us all to build a future grounded in respect, empowerment, and shared truth.
Our assembly will be a moment for our College community to come together in celebration, reflection, and learning, as we walk alongside one another in recognition of a legacy that continues to shape our nation.
In addition to our NAIDOC celebrations, we will also acknowledge the academic excellence of students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in Semester One. Students who have been notified they are receiving an award must ensure they are in correct College uniform to be eligible to collect their award on stage.
Parents and caregivers are warmly invited to attend this special assembly. We look forward to welcoming our community for this important celebration.
Mother Teresa Catholic College Gears Up for a Season of Community Connection in Term 3
Mother Teresa Catholic College is set to welcome Term 3 with a dynamic line-up of community events designed to bring students, families, and staff together in celebration, reflection, and shared experience.
With a strong focus on engagement and belonging, the College’s calendar highlights the importance of community involvement in education and student wellbeing. These events play a critical role in strengthening relationships, promoting cultural understanding, and supporting student growth beyond the classroom.
The term begins with NAIDOC Week, running from 21 to 25 July. Throughout the week, students across the College will take part in a range of activities that honour the culture, history, and achievements of First Nation and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Assemblies, creative projects, and storytelling experiences will encourage students to reflect on Australia’s rich First Nations heritage and the importance of reconciliation.
On Wednesday 23 July, families of Year 6 students are invited to the Confirmation Parent Information Night. This session offers guidance and insight into the Sacrament of Confirmation, helping parents support their children as they prepare for this significant step in their faith journey.
A major highlight of the term will be the College production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Performances will take place on Thursday 14 August at 7:00pm and Friday 15 August at 7:00pm. This ambitious production showcases the creativity, talent, and collaboration of students and staff, and promises to be a memorable theatrical experience for the whole community.
Later in the term, the College will celebrate our annual Mother Teresa Feast Day on Wednesday 3 September. This whole-school event reflects the spirit and identity of Mother Teresa Catholic College. Through prayer, service activities, and joyful celebration, students and staff will come together to honour the life and mission of the College’s namesake.
The term will conclude on Friday 26 September, with a chance to reflect on achievements, celebrate milestones, and prepare for the final chapter of the school year.
For full details and regular updates, the College encourages families to visit the community calendar.

Sacrament of Confirmation: An Invitation to Continue the Faith Journey
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a deeply significant step in a young person’s journey of faith — a time to renew baptismal promises, be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and grow more fully into the life of the Church.
At Mother Teresa Catholic College, we believe that the Sacraments are not only milestones in spiritual life but are also essential to our holistic approach to Catholic education. Confirmation strengthens our students’ relationship with God, empowers them to live out their faith with courage, and encourages them to be active participants in both Church and community life.
Students in Year 6 (or older) who are interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year are invited to register their interest by completing the form linked below:

Celebrating Early Learning Matters Week – 18 to 24 August 2025
From 18 to 24 August, our College will proudly join the nationwide celebration of Early Learning Matters Week, a special time to recognise the incredible journey of early learning and its impact on children, families, and the wider community.
Organised by Early Childhood Australia (ECA), this initiative shines a spotlight on the essential role that early learning plays in shaping a child’s development, wellbeing, and future success. It’s more than just a week; it’s a movement that brings together educators, parents, caregivers, and community leaders to celebrate and advocate for quality early childhood education.
Why does Early Learning matter? Because it lays the foundation for lifelong learning. These formative years are when children develop curiosity, creativity, confidence, and resilience — skills that empower them to explore the world and embrace learning with joy and optimism. Early learning environments foster not only academic readiness but also vital social and emotional growth, helping children build the skills they need to thrive in school and life.
At Mother Teresa Catholic College, our Junior School will be celebrating throughout the week with story-sharing sessions, creative activities, and interactive learning experiences. These moments will be shared on our social media pages, so we encourage our community to keep an eye out and join in the celebration. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see how early learning shapes not only our youngest students but also strengthens our College community.
Early Learning Matters every day — and together, we can continue to nurture a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

A Final Curtain Call for Our Year 12 Stars
This year’s College production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to be a truly emotional and memorable one, as it marks the final performance for several of our talented Year 12 students who have dedicated years to the Performing Arts at Mother Teresa Catholic College.
For Kirea B, Ava-Addison C, Alicia C, Liam C, Sophie C, Eimear F, Bethany F, Kendall F, Thomas K, Isabelle M, Ash Nicholls, Quin P, and Olivia V, this production is more than just a show — it’s a celebration of their passion, creativity, and commitment throughout their journey at MTCC.
These students have taken on countless roles both on stage and behind the scenes over the years. Whether dazzling in the spotlight, working tirelessly in stage crew, choreographing routines, designing sets, or leading the way in media production, each has left an unforgettable mark on the College’s performing arts legacy.
Among them is Quin P, whose journey began backstage on Seussical the Musical in 2019 and has evolved into a deep love for drama and media. He reflects fondly on the friendships, confidence, and creative skills he’s developed along the way, crediting MTCC for helping him discover a future in creative media. Quin will be graduating into a highly regarded media course and has high hopes for a career in the industry.
As they prepare to take their final bow, these students leave behind not just a legacy of outstanding performances, but a spirit of collaboration, joy, and artistic excellence that has inspired younger students and enriched our entire College community.
We invite everyone to come along and support our Year 12s in their last magical production. Expect great props, unforgettable moments, and a whole lot of heart.
To our graduating performers — thank you. Your talent and dedication have made us all incredibly proud. We can’t wait to see where your next act takes you.
Staying Connected Through SEQTA Engage
At Mother Teresa Catholic College, we are committed to building strong partnerships between home and school to support every child’s educational journey. One of the key tools we use to facilitate this connection is the SEQTA suite of applications.
SEQTA allows parents and caregivers to engage with their child’s learning in real-time through a user-friendly platform called SEQTA Engage. This system is designed to provide families with transparent and up-to-date information about their child’s education — all in one place.
Through SEQTA Engage, parents and guardians can:
Access school reports and academic feedback
Track current achievements and progress
View timetables and curriculum overviews
Stay informed about co-curricular programs and events
If you haven’t already done so, we strongly encourage you to set up your SEQTA Engage account to take full advantage of these features. Simply copy and paste the following link into your browser to begin the setup process:

Should you need any assistance with accessing or navigating SEQTA Engage, our friendly ICT Team in the Learning Hub is always available to help.

Kelton and Nikolas Share Their Flames Spirit with NBL Stars
This week, we were filled with pride as two of our own, Year 8 students Kelton C and Nikolas K, demonstrated their passion, creativity, and support for the Rockingham Flames in truly memorable ways.
Kelton had the incredible opportunity to meet one of his favourite professional NBL players, Emmett Naar, and marked the moment with a heartfelt gesture — a personally crafted collector’s card, made by Kelton himself. This special gift showcased his creativity and love for the sport, and left a lasting impression on one of his basketball heroes.
Not to be outdone, Nikolas also took the opportunity to show his admiration by designing and gifting a custom-made card to another Flames player, Jervon Pressley. Nikolas' thoughtful creation was another powerful example of how our students celebrate and connect with the athletes who inspire them.
These acts of kindness not only highlighted the boys’ artistic talents, but also their dedication to the local sporting community. Their support of the Rockingham Flames reflects a strong sense of community pride, and a genuine appreciation for the role sport plays in bringing people together.
Kelton and Nikolas, you have both made us incredibly proud. Your gestures remind us of the value of creativity, gratitude, and the importance of celebrating those who inspire us. Your Flames family — and your MTCC family — are right behind you!
College Awarded WasteSorted Schools Grant to Boost Sustainability Initiatives
We are proud to share that Mother Teresa Catholic College has been awarded a WasteSorted Schools Grant valued at $4,784 to support and enhance our sustainability initiatives. This generous funding will be used to purchase additional blue recycling bins for paper and cardboard, gardening tools, and a new greenhouse for growing seedlings.
These resources will further enrich the educational experience for our students, providing hands-on learning opportunities that deepen their understanding of environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and waste reduction.
This achievement reflects the dedication and vision of our College’s Sustainability Team, and we extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs Helen McClenaghan and the Green Team for their outstanding work in leading this initiative. Their continued commitment to creating a greener future for our school and wider community is both inspiring and impactful.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the WasteSorted Schools Program and Reece Whitby MLA for their ongoing support of environmental education. Through their partnership, schools like ours can continue to empower students to be active and responsible caretakers of the planet.
Together, we are growing a culture of sustainability — one seedling at a time.
