Sustainability Update

Our Sustainability Centre is thriving with the rain and sunshine we have been having. The students are enjoying the delicious mulberries from the tree, watching the changes in the tiger worms, collecting the coloured eggs and caring for the vegetables which are growing.

This week is the Aussie Bird Count where the students observed, recorded and shared the birds they saw around our college. Then as a class we collated the data and sent our results to Bird Life Australia who are leading the way in bird conservation around the country.

If you didn’t get a chance to see Sunny the Scarecrow our winning scarecrow (3rd Place) from the Perth Royal Show Competition made by our amazing Pre-Primary students, it is sitting in the front office.  Rosie the Roustabout and Sunny the Scarecrow both looked fantastic. Well done to all the students involved in creating them.

This week the Year One students had fun in the chicken pen taking photos of the chickens while learning about their features and where they live. This is linked to their Unit of Inquiry: Living things rely on each other and their environment to survive.
